Whew.....!

Whew...

I am so glad doomsday is over because I was worried for a minute that I would no longer be able to make beautiful music (plug for 4Ever Beautiful Music Publishing lol).

I had an amazing time in California, April at the "I Create Music" ASCAP Expo!
I had the opportunity to mingle and network with some of the best in the business. The thing that proved most valuable was being in the creative environment with my peers who strive off their love for music.
I was able to make some life long contacts; which in the future may prove to be the door to something larger than life.
I was able to create music.
I was able to hear other people's music; people from Amsterdam, Russia and all over.
I was able to listen to dedicated artists like Fergie, Melanie Fiona, Kelly Price, Pharrell, and Jermaine Dupri share their stories and words of wisdom for creative souls much like myself.
Needless to say, I can't wait to go next year!!

What has Casaundra been working on you ask...
I've been collaborating with other artists and writing for my second EP!!
I am excited and am ready to do something new.
I will be in the studio tomorrow working on a few new jams so I'll be posting on Twitter how that goes :)

If in fact you do not have your copy of "What Kind of Love," you need to get it before the next doomsday hits, which could be any day now sooo no pressure but HURRY lol.  What Kind of Love by Casaundra - Download What Kind of Love on iTunes

Well, it's been real. I hope you go make beautiful music and if your thing isn't making music then just go listen to some M.J. in honor of :)

Time is flying!

Within the past month I have been busy with school, work and my internship at my university recording studio.
In the past month I've had a radio interview with Tiffani Walker from Embrace Life radio http://www.embraceliferadio.com/. Much respect to Tiffani for her support of my music and other upcoming artists. She understands and acknowledges the hardships of independent artists like myself and makes sure they get recognition and praise for their work. (Thanks Tiff!)
I've also sung at several engagements and of course, I am writing constantly. My latest song is "Who I Am," a guitar collab. It's a friendly acoustic song that is really mellow and similar in style as a Jessie J or Sara Bareilles song.

Every day I am gaining fans internationally and it is so exciting!! http://www.jango.com/music/Casaundra?l=0
I am humbled to know that people in other countries are listening and supporting me; I feel the love and respect!!
What I'm really looking forward to is the "I Create Music" ASCAP Expo; L.A. next month!! This will be an opportunity for me to be surrounded by peers who share the same goals and talents; believe you me, I am sooo excited! I plan on leaving an impression on L.A. and taking in some invaluable information.  There's much to be said about the creative environment; I simply love it! I think I'll probably be so amped from my surrounding that's I'm willing to bet I won't get much sleep but who needs sleep when you're in L.A. at a music expo??
Anyway, I want to encourage you. Things won't always move at a pace that is ideal for you but you must be patient. I find my self restless many times when things don't go my way but then I realize I'm not God; all I can do is my best and leave the rest to Him sooo... - my dear friend just breathe, stretch, shake & let it go as Diddy said lol.
If you have not purchased "What Kind of Love" yet, you should.  What Kind of Love by Casaundra - Download What Kind of Love on iTunes. #TeamSupport ♥
BTW, I love feedback so let me know what you think!! #TeamFeedback

Much love,

"Motivation in 2011!!"

How's it going everyone?! How are your New Years goals/ resolutions coming along? Are you excited?

If you couldn't tell, I am very excited for this new year. In the last blog I talked about setting goals for yourself.
You better believe that my list is posted on my wall for me to see everyday so I stay on track.
This year is a new year and there is no reason why you can't be successful. I think it's time to take responsibility for our lives and be the best YOU can be according to you; no excuses- I don't believe in excuses.
I am just so excited for this year because I realize I have the potential to make 2011 better than any other.
Instead of waking up and sulking I: thank God, look at my daily goals- reluctantly sometimes, yes, but take a deep breath and just do it.
I feel more motivated than ever before; ready to take on the world. It helps if you work-out consistently and take multi vitamins because than you will feel better and have more energy; I go at least three times a week and I am feeling lovely!
My point is- Just do it (Nike was ingenious for that lol). No one likes a complainer or someone always making excuses. Those are tools of the incompetent- Are you incompetent? -No because God created you wonderfully so you can do all things with His help so just DO IT!!
My last days at school are dwindling down and I will admit I have plenty of anxiety thinking about the next phase in my life but I am ready to go for it with all I have; no regrets. I am interning at a recording studio and I am ready to soak up all I can and take full advantage of this opportunity. Both my friend Margarita Rodarte' (also interning there) and I are ready to change the standards of what an intern should be; going above and beyond what is expected to get something bigger out of our experience and duration there.
One of my latest songs "Night On the Town" is a perfect example of what I've been talking about as far as motivation and such. In the song I am not having the best of days as stated in the beginning lyrics; "It's not the best of days, I'm not in the best of moods cuz my girls are actin' stank and I'm fighting with my dude..." - Nothing is going my way and it seems all bad BUT I take full advantage of the negative seeming things around me and turn it around; I decide to have a night out on the town on me. No worries, not negativity, just me, myself and I having a good time refusing to stay down. Like Aaliyah said it best, "if at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again." Never allow life's situations to keep you down. I believe YOU have the power to change any situation and make it work out for you in the end. I'd like to think that's a good thing to adapt and practice in our daily lives. Too many people are stressed out and depressed- I don't have time for that. We are blessed and I refuse to be all frowned up all day cuz' that would not be a good look causing wrinkles and whatnot (that's a big no-no lol).

Clearly I had a lot to say today but I hope it does in fact inspire and motivate you.

As always, thank you for your time and support!!
